The Finance Track is jointly led by Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rishi Sunak and Governor of the Bank of England Andrew Bailey. The UK Presidency priorities for the 2021 Finance Track are fourfold:
- protecting jobs and supporting the global economic recovery
- working to reach a global solution to the tax challenges created by digitalisation of the economy
- helping our global economies reach their net zero targets
- providing necessary support for the world’s most vulnerable countries
G7 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors met virtually on 28 May 2021, and Finance Ministers met again in London on 4-5 June 2021, joined by the Heads of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank Group, Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Eurogroup, and (on 28 May) Financial Stability Board (FSB).
They agreed concrete actions to address today’s historic challenges and as part of their renewed and urgent effort towards deeper multilateral economic cooperation.
